Snoring, a cause of sexual depression
Dr. Ümit Filiz, an ENT surgeon, stated that snoring and sleep apnea negatively affect couples' relationships, noting that it can even lead to divorce, but added, “However, it is possible to overcome this problem with treatment.”
Although snoring is generally seen as a harmless problem, Dr. Ümit Filiz, an ENT specialist at the Private Ento Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery Medical Center, pointed out that it can be a sign of serious health problems, saying that in individuals with sleep apnea in particular, breathing pauses throughout the night lower the body's oxygen levels. Filiz stated that this disrupts sleep quality and hormone balance, adding, "Snoring seriously threatens not only the partner's health but also the health of the person who snores. Two out of every three men who snore experience a significant drop in testosterone levels. This can lead to sexual dysfunction and loss of libido. Furthermore, constantly interrupted sleep makes it difficult for the person to concentrate, communicate, and develop healthy dialogues."
